NASCC 2014 Presentation Part 1 of 6

As I mentioned back in March, I made a presentation at the 2014 NASCC conference in Toronto. The title was "Structural Steel Fabrication Package - A Paradigm Shift". As many of you know now, FEG has been pushing BIM for quite a while to leverage our structural data for use downstream and improve the efficiency of the steel package for a project. It hasn't been a particularly easy path, as one could imagine, but that effort was the genesis of our Complete Structural Package™.

The presentation was about an hour and fifteen minutes with Q&A. I've culled it down to about an hour and have broken it up into six segments ranging from 8-14 minutes (all on our YouTube channel). Hopefully they are bite-sized enough sections that will allow you to take a little break from your day and learn something new. The segments will be as follows:

  1. The current process of shop drawing review and AISC initiatives
  2. Sharing model data - the paradigm shift
  3. Including the fabricator in this new process
  4. Case studies
  5. Engineering liability
  6. Q&A

So, take a few minutes to learn how we've changed the way steel is being delivered for our projects and see how it can be used on your projects to help make them better and more profitable for the whole team.

Here's our first segment (10:01) - FEG 2014 NASCC Presentation - Part 1

I hope you find it informative. As always, if you have any questions about our process, please feel free to give me a call to discuss.
