The American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and the fabricated structural steel industry will be hosting SteelDay 2011 this Friday, September 23rd. Over 9,000 architects, engineers, contractors, developers and students attended more than 190 free events all over the country last year.
Doug Fitzpatrick will be presenting a seminar on the structural engineer's workflow from analysis to BIM to sharing structural data with the fabricator and the current state of interoperability via CIS/2 from Revit and Bentley Structural at Lyndon Steel in Winston-Salem. The presentation starts at 11:00am and there will be plant tours all day.
If you haven't done this before, it's a great opportunity to get an up-close-and-personal look at how a fabricator turns our 2D drawings into reality. Check out the SteelDay website, give us a call or send us an email for the nearest event.
